Lesson Openings

New Lessons

I am opening up morning & Sunday lessons. I will be holding new lessons at 11AM during the weekdays, beginning the week of August 31. These lessons are designed for adults or students with a flexible weekday schedule.
Also, I will be offering Sunday lessons, beginning on August 9. If anyone is interested in joining a 11AM weekday class, a Sunday lesson, or is available and appropriate for one of the open lessons, please contact me. Or, if you would like to sign up for an additional (second or third) lesson each week, email me.

Becoming A Student

I recommend taking 3 trial lessons. If four fillies farm fits your horseback riding instruction criteria, you enjoy my school horses/ponies, and the location, lesson time, and other lesson participants seems like a fit, and you Annafit into the four fillies farm program, the student will then be enrolled in weekly lessons. I do not offer lesson or payment blocks. Usually, students stay in the program until there is a change in their schedule, or they move. I have had some students since the opening of four fillies farm, 5 years ago!

Tentative Lesson Schedule~The next few weeks

Many families are away this summer, therefore, I am trying to combine lessons to 4-5 riders in each one. Plus, I would like to shorten the summer days for the horses. Please plan for drop off and pick up from the barn accordingly.

Truck In Lessons $35.00/per rider/90 minutes

Riders who have their own horse(s) may trailer over and take a lesson at FFF with a FFF instructor. Price may vary depending on the type of lesson; private, semiprivate or group. Please contact me to schedule this type of lesson.

Private Lessons $75.00/per rider/90 minutes

This lesson is with the student and FFF instructor only. Please arrive at designated lesson time to begin grooming and tacking. Approximately 50 minutes in the saddle. If grooming & tacking requires more than 15 minutes, it will cut into ride time. Student is responsible for preparing (collecting their mount, doing a full groom, tack up) their horse for the lesson and is responsible for untacking, regrooming and cleaning up one’s equipment after the lesson. Riders aged 7-adult and all riding abilities are welcome to participate. Private lessons can be an outstanding way to build confidence, work through a trouble area, or to boost your experience. Try one out!

Semiprivate Lessons $55.00/per rider/90 minutes

This lesson is with 2 riders and the FFF instructor. Please arrive at designated lesson time to begin grooming and tacking. Approximately 45 minutes in the saddle. If grooming & tacking requires more than 15 minutes, it will cut into ride time. Student is responsible for preparing their horse for the lesson and is responsible for untacking, regrooming and cleaning up one’s equipment after the lesson. Riders aged 8-adult, and all riding abilities are welcome to participate. Volunteers are available to assist, if needed and scheduled. This lesson works well for siblings, parent & child, friends or anyone of similar riding experience who wish to ride together.

Group Lessons $45.00/per rider/90 minutes

A group lesson is the most common lesson at FFF. In this lesson, there are 3-5 riders and the FFF instructor.
Group lessons are instrumental in teaching students to ride safely together, rider awareness, and spacing. Plus, being part of a group builds communication skills, and how to work effectively and efficiently as a team. Riders can learn from one another. A group lesson creates a picture for horseback riding instructions.

Party Lessons $40.00/per rider/90 minutes

This lesson is of similar dynamics as the Group Lesson. However, in this lesson, there are 6-7 riders and the FFF instructor. Keep your eye’s up, and plan your riding in this lesson!

Team Lessons $35.00/per rider/90 minutes

This lesson is similar to the Group Lesson and Party Lesson. However, this lesson is 8-9 riders and the FFF instructor. This lesson is challenging with the number of riders, but can be very educational and solid practice for the warm up arena’s at off farm horse shows. Busy arena’s are all about multitasking, rider awareness and knowledge of ring etiquette. Riders must have exceptional steering. No beginners or advanced beginners.

Lessons This Fall

In August, I will be putting together the fall lesson schedule. I will need to reorganize lessons and find the best group for each rider. Students who spent the summer at the barn (and especially those who participated in the Barn Flies Summer Programs) will need to be placed in a more experienced lesson as I try to group students of similar age and experience level together. Groups of 5 riders seem to work out the best for more educated riders, and groups of 4 work well for more novice riders. If you have specific lesson requirements, please email me.
