A bit about the four fillies farm shows

Starting in Spring and ending in Fall, I host horse shows at FFF. There are classes for every rider, any age and ability. I recommend entering the entire division to be eligible for championships and to get the most exposure and experience out of the event.

There are usually 3 classes to each division. Use the shows to demonstrate skills that you have mastered. Do not use horse shows to try out new skills. The idea of showing is to show off your best riding, ride in front of an audience, and be open to judging in a supportive, low-stress environment.

Invite your friends, family and anyone else to be spectators! If you are not interested in showing; come and support the other FFF riders! You can learn a lot about horseback riding from watching other riders. All FFF riders are welcome to join in the horse showing fun.

Try it once, see if you like it. There is no pressure to compete.

Each rider is awarded with a beautiful FFF ribbon!

Off Farm Shows, Please Inquire

Once a FFF student is comfortable horse showing on four fillies farm property, there may be the option to travel to off farm horse shows.

We travel to hunter/jumper schooling shows and will start getting into rated shows over the next few seasons. Horse showing off farm is a major financial and time commitment. Numerous hours will be spend preparing for the horse show, in the saddle, on the ground beautifying your show mount, meticulously cleaning and oiling your equipment, and not to mention, the investment of purchasing a horse show outfit & gear, and primping yourself for the show.

Horse showing involves being prepared and well schooled in your event. The rider prepares the horse/pony for the show, cleans and packs the equipment, and the rider spends hours the night before the show prepping for the show. The most important part of horse showing is to be able to trust your show coach. The relationship between competitor and coach can be intense; riders must be prepared to follow instructions and ride with their heart and mind. Horse showing can be stressful and competitive.

Competitors must have a tough outer shell and be open to criticism from judges or even other competitors. We, at four fillies farm, horse show for the experience and opportunity to become a better, more educated and skilled rider. Horse showing can build a strong, motivated team of competitors, show helpers, show mom’s and the show coach.

Each time out, riders come home with a new learned experience. The immeasurable amount of pride and the feeling of how rewarding a horse show can be (after all that practice and preparations!) is so exciting and satisfying. Horse showing is like no other experience, that is one more reason why we pack up and head out to the next show.
